Ida noted that arts therapy including painting and playing music (particularly singing bowls) led her to relax and helped reduce pain. Intervention target improvements were achieved for sleep, drive and emotional functioning.
Ida is much less nervous, overall more positive and self-assured, and can sleep through the whole night.

Support through her family and friends were strengthened through the counseling and education focusing on their attitudes and approaches of support. Other emotional functioning outcomes included in Ida’s report, comprised reductions in both her fear of falling associated with wheelchair tilting and her recent sadness about her disability.
Regarding mobility, some gains were achieved in transferring, lifting/carrying objects, wheelchair mobility and changing body positions. The ICF Evaluation Table (Figure 4) below outlines the changes in the level of functioning in the specific intervention targets following the treatment program.
The chart shows that most of the goal that have been set were achieved especially in the field of activities and participation. Furthermore, the comprehensive and multidisciplinary pain management was successful in reaching the goals of improving Ida`s personal factors through special counseling.
Other goals might not have been achieved but nevertheless Ida improved in many areas, e.g. handling stress and finding the best dose of the right medication. No goals of her intervention target were not reached at all; although it is important to mention that some goals might have been too ambitious to be reached at full success.

Upon Ida’s release, a further recommendation was made for admission to a daycare clinic to support her in her long term pain management and as a consequence, her social integration. In the meantime, Ida was to return home.
